A promotional web site for the forthcoming Holocaust memoir, Live Another Day: How I Survived the Holocaust and Achieved the American Dream, by Michael Edelstein, was unveiled today for public access at LiveAnotherDayBook.com.
Edelstein is an 89-year-old survivor of the Nazi occupation of west Ukraine who went on to considerable success in New York residential real estate and Jewish philanthropy. The site provides an interactive, multimedia presentation of Edelstein's full life narrative:
The story is presented using multiple media, including text, images, maps and audio excerpts. More than 200 people, places and events mentioned in the book are linked in an interactive index. Each chapter features a slideshow of sourced and credited historical photos, evoking situations similar to those described by the author. Acclaimed Yiddish actor Avi Hoffman reads the words of the author in 18 chapter excerpts.
LiveAnotherDayBook.com is a production of Ruby Brothers Media, a new venture by brothers Walter Ruby and Dan Ruby to present historical narratives in multiple media, including print, online and moving image. The two brothers are also the co-authors of the book, which is being readied for print publication this summer.
An important feature of the site launched today is a new blog, Munye's World, written by the Ruby brothers about the historical context of Edelstein's story. Munye was the Yiddish name of the boy who became Michael Edelstein. Munye's World launches today with two introductory posts with new content to be posted weekly leading up to the book publication.
