Survivor web site previewed at interfaith Reflections event

Annual event draws lessons from the Holocaust to ongoing world genocides

Walter Ruby announced the launch of LiveAnotherDayBook.com at an interfaith commemoration of the Holocaust and other genocides on Sunday, January 26, at the Arlington, Va. public library.

The 15th Annual Reflections on Holocaust and Genocides carried on the long-time mission of its sponsor, the Center for Pluralism, to apply the lessons of history to prevent present-day genocides, massacres and ethnic cleansing.

This year, the program featured Holocaust survivor Robert Teitel telling his personal story, Dr. Gregory Stanton of Genocide Watch on the 10 stages of genocide, and updates from experts on the Uyghur and Rohingya peoples and current trouble spots in Kashmir and India.

Ruby's presentation fit the theme of the program by recalling the childhood Holocaust experience of Michael Edelstein, the author of Live Another Day, which will be published in book form later this year. The interactive multimedia website went live last week as a means to generate interest in the book.

The Reflections event drew attendees from the Washington, D.C. area interfaith community. According to organizer Dr. Mike Ghouse, "When we acknowledge each other's grief and participate in each other's commemoration, we connect with the humanness within ourselves and seed the relationship of understanding and caring for each other."

Here are a couple of clips from Ruby's talk about the book and website.
